Armenians love celebrating various occasions, therefore each year is full of interesting and fun events. Film lovers come to Yerevan and attend the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival at the Moscow Cinema on July 8-15. The main aim of the festival is to encourage creativity and to establish a network between filmmakers and movie lovers. It was formed in 2004 in Yerevan – the capital of the Republic of Armenia. It also reflects the history of Armenia. The opening of the festival is always marked with a traditional blessing of apricots, for which Armenia is famous.
